- A tsunami is a series of waves. Do not return to an affected coastal area until authorities say it is safe.

- Assemble a safety pack : Include food, water, and a first aid kit are the basics required. Keep the safety pack somewhere obvious, well-known to everyone in the building and easy to grab in an emergency. It can also help to leave a raincoat or other coat for each person near the safety pack.

- Assemble a personal survival pack for each person in the family, and a family survival pack with common items for everyone. Don't forget survival items for your pets.

Today 11th April , 2012 ,a Mild Earthquake occured on some parts of Chennai at around 2.15 pm IST  .
 Tremor was also felt at Tiruvallur , Egmore , Alwarpet , Mylapore , Santhom and in some other parts of the country .

People from Villupuram , Puducherry , Cuddalore , and Chennai ran out of buildings and are in shock , No reports of damage, injury, death so far . Reports say around 8.9 Richter Scale magnitude earthquake was there in Indonesia

Tsunami warning issued in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu ( TN ), Andhra Pradesh ( AP ) , Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Indonesia

 People are advised to go to high altitude areas

Will Tsunami Hit ?

Officials said , Tsunami likely to Hit Eastern Costal Areas around 4.00 PM - 5.00 Pm . 
Alerted areas included Chennai , Puducherry , Cuddalore , Andaman & Nicobar Islands .
